Job Description

An ever improving Secondary school situated in the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham is seeking to appoint a full time MFL Teacher for the beginning of the Spring term in January.

The position includes delivering French to KS4 and Spanish to KS3.

The school is flexible in their approach to this position as they are willing to consider applicants both looking for a permanent contract immediately and/or those preferring to work on a temporary to permanent basis.

Are you a teacher committed to seeking out new challenges in a school that adheres to the traditional values of uniform, discipline and respect?

Does your passion for languages (French and Spanish, ideally) lead you to believe that this role is the perfect opportunity for you?

***Ever improving school
***MFL department nurtures a love of Languages
***Challenging and rewarding work!
***Homework based around real life situations

The MFL department sets homework based around using languages in real life situations such as report writing or interviews; revision clubs are also available for students to benefit from. The aim is for the teachers within the department to nurture a love of languages and the hope is that this can be achieved through incorporating specific cultural aspects and creative writing lessons.

This is a school that recognises the importance of delivering an education that meets the requirements of every student whilst ensuring that they are also fully supported as a unique individual, a member of a team and as a future employee.

The aforementioned support includes each pupil becoming fully involved in their learning in an environment that sees them flourish as they enter their formative years of adulthood. One of the school's long term goals is that every student, when the time comes, is offered the opportunity to study at the University of their choice.

The school is extremely proud of the strides it has made in relation to improved exam results over the past three years and this has been the result of a renewed commitment to teamwork throughout the school as it was realised that without doing so would ultimately create less opportunities for the students.

The school is served by excellent transport links, including railway stations and a variety of local bus routes.

Applicants will need to hold QTS or be suitably qualified to be able to teach in schools in the UK as well as possessing effective classroom management strategies.
