An exciting opportunity has risen for an experienced HLTA to
work within a supportive school based in Surrey. This HLTA position will be working
within a special secondary school with students aged 11-16 with associated
behavioural and communication difficulties.
As a HLTA your key duties will be to know and understand the
Class Teacher’s curriculum planning in case of a teacher’s absence. You will be
expected to plan, prepare and deliver assigned programmes of teaching and
learning activities to individual, small groups and/or classes modifying and adapting
activities as necessary within agreed systems of supervision.
As a HLTA you will have the responsibility to reinforce
learning concepts presented by teachers as well as taking an active role in key
areas of responsibility across the school including displays, organising resources
and developing/implementing EHCP’s if requested. The successful HLTA will have The
Higher-Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification or
demonstrate equivalent skill level.
