A well-established SEN school is currently looking to bring
in a new Teaching assistant to help assist the classroom needs of pupils and
provide classroom support for the teachers. The ideal Teaching Assistant should
possess the ability to adapt and manage the needs of induvial students in order
to help them achieve their academic goals. The school provides its students a rich
curriculum that can be adjusted to meet the needs of different pupils. The successful
Teaching Assistants should have previous experience working with SEN students
and possess an open-minded approach to student support.
The school caters to students aged between 5 – 18, with
classroom sizes ranging from 4 – 8 students. Pupils in attendance have a range
of learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties. As a result, the curriculum
has been designed to incorporate therapies such as speech and language, as well
as community-oriented outreach opportunities as part of a balanced structure of
both educational and vocational instruction. This school has high expectations
for its pupils and as a result staff are encouraged to mould the curriculum to
meet the academic needs of their students.
